Routine dental cleaning
A scale and polish is a cleaning which removes tartar from the teeth. Hand-scalers, polishers and ultra-sonic instruments will be used to achieve this goal. The cleaning is usually performed by an hygienist but it can also be performed by your dentist.
Whitening
Teeth whitening (or bleaching) is a dental treatment used to enlighten the color of your teeth. It’s the best solution to enhance the brightness of your smile.
In our practice, regarding the restrictions on concentrations of whitening products in Europe, we provide to our patients home whitening trays. We fit you with custom mouth trays that hold professional whitening gel and you will wear these trays as directed according to your preferences and sensitivity.
To maintain a nice white color, you may need to touch-up every years or every 6 months, according to your coffee, tea, or wine consumption.
Orthodontic
There is different techniques to straighten your teeth. Nowadays, our patients are looking for a cosmetic appliance. Aligners are highly popular with patients for their aesthetic aspect. The aligners look like a mouth guard that you wear all day long (around 22 hours a day). They are removable and the patients can eat without any discomfort. It’s made of transparent plastic which makes it almost invisible !
The patients have different sets of aligners that need to be changed every 2 weeks. Throughout the treatment process, teeth move following the different positions of each aligner. Little by little, the teeth will move to finally have a complete straighten smile.
Veneers
Veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped ceramic that covers your existing tooth. They are bonded onto the tooth to redesign and reshape your teeth and smile. It is generally indicate for misaligned teeth, severely discolored teeth or, broken or chipped teeth.
Place dental facets
As with most dental restorations, veneers are not permanent and may someday need replacement. They are very durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long lasting smile. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new veneers.
Veneers involve a removal of 1/2 millimeter of enamel from the tooth surface. At your first visit, Dr Laura Sadone will tell you if veneers are appropriate for you and will explain you the process.
Crowns
A crown (or cap) cover the entire tooth restoring it to its original size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or onlays.
We make crowns from full porcelain, as it can be matched to the shade, shape and size of your other teeth. This will allow it to appear just like one of your natural teeth.
They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced.
Reasons for crowns:
- Teeth with RCT.
- Broken or fractured teeth.
- Cosmetic enhancement.
- Too large fillings.
